Tooth Extractions

Who needs the tooth fairy when you’ve got us? Tooth extractions are completed with care … and a little sprinkling of fairy dust.

Tooth Extractions

If a tooth cannot be restored with a filling or crown, a tooth extraction may be necessary. A tooth extraction may also be needed in an overcrowded jaw as part of a long-term orthodontic plan. A tooth extraction may seem daunting, but the benefits include:

  • Pain relief – by removing the offending tooth – a source of pain and discomfort – you will feel instant relief.
  • Reduced risk of infection – removing an infected tooth safeguards your other teeth.
  • Orthodontic alignment – removing overcrowded or misaligned teeth can help with overall function of the jaw area.

Tooth extraction requires the use of a local anaesthetic. If this worries you, please get in touch with one of our friendly team members, who will talk you through the procedure.

Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth, also known as the ‘third molar teeth’, usually appear in your late teens / early twenties. These big teeth aren’t as clever as their name suggests! They love to create complications – such as not erupting fully or getting stuck in the gums – and they can cause overcrowding and misalignment of existing teeth by throwing their weight around.

Wisdom teeth should be extracted if they are impacted, crowding the mouth, damaging adjacent teeth, painful, or for orthodontic treatments.

We are wise beyond our years at White Rabbit Dental and have seen our fair share of wisdom teeth. We will assess the location of your wisdom teeth and their impact on your oral health and general well-being, and work with you to create a customised treatment plan.
